How can we help?
Write to support@tailfin.info. Please include the email address of your account if your question is about it. Never send your password or a code: we will never ask for them.
Your account
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?. We email a 6-digit code to set a new one; it works for 15 minutes. Setting a new password signs out your other devices.
The code did not arrive
Check your spam folder; codes come from no-reply@mail.tailfin.info. After a minute you can ask for a new code in the app.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Account → Delete account and enter your password. Your account and everything kept for it are deleted straight away, and we email you to confirm. If you can no longer sign in, write to us from the account's email address.
Two-step sign-in
With two-step sign-in on, Tailfin asks for a code from an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password) after your password. Turn it on in Account → Two-step sign-in.
I lost my phone
Sign in with one of the ten recovery codes shown when you turned it on; each works once. Then turn two-step sign-in off and on again with your new phone. Without a recovery code, write to us from the account's email address.
Free and subscribed
Without a subscription you can open London Heathrow, New York JFK, Dubai, Los Angeles and Paris Charles de Gaulle; British Airways, Emirates and Lufthansa; and the Airbus A320 family, the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A350. Lists and search always show everything; other items carry a padlock.
Where the data comes from
Flights and schedules come from AeroDataBox. Airports come from OurAirports, airline details from Wikidata, and the types of US-registered airliners from the FAA aircraft register. Figures such as punctuality are worked out by Tailfin from the flights it has recorded, so they cover the airports in Tailfin's data.
